Stage-manage selling your house for greater returns

All the world’s a stage, said Shakespeare, and all of us are merely players. But let’s face it, with immaculately applied make-up and favourable lighting, some of us look better on stage than others. The same can be said for homes. While certain properties – palatial pads in the most sought-after residential areas, for instance and those with no-expense-spared interiors – require little if any assistance when it comes to securing a sale, houses that can be diplomatically described as having that ‘‘lived-in’’ look, tend to need all the help they can get. But how can you transform a property that’s as stale as Christmas turkey into one that’s full of the joys of spring?
